Wentz Concert Hall

Since the Wentz Concert Hall was dedicated in October 2008, performers and audience members alike have raved about the stunning clarity of sound and exceptional acoustics. Once you experience the Wentz, you realize that Naperville truly has a world-class concert hall.

The latest accolade comes from Lavard Skou-Larsen, co-founder and lead violin for the Salzburg Chamber Soloists, who performed in the Wentz Saturday, April 4.

“(The hall is) excellent.  Amazing.  We had a lot of fun, really!,” Skou-Larsen says. “(It is) one of the best halls we have played in … incredible!”

Pretty high praise coming from the founder of an ensemble that has played some of the finest concert halls the world over.

Bilbao

The theatres at North Central College are fairly quiet this week, leading up to Easter Sunday. So it’s a good opportunity to highlight the exhibits happening in our three art galleries. All three exhibits are free and open to the public.
The sculpture works of artist Tuck Langland are featured in the exhibit, “People: Variations on a Theme,” in the Schoenherr Art Gallery at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave., through May 2. The exhibits is sponsored by John and Nancy DiCiurcio of Turner Construction Company.
The Schoenherr Art Gallery is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, noon to 5 p.m. Sundays, and will be open one hour before most performances in the Fine Arts Center.
The oil paintings of artist Eva Hoffmann are featured in a solo exhibit in the Gallery of Oesterle Library, 320 E. School St. The exhibit may be viewed through May 7 during library hours: 8 a.m. to midnight Mondays through Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.
And works of art students from Indian Prairie School District 204 are featured in the gallery at Meiley-Swallow Hall, 31 S. Ellsworth St., through May 3. The gallery is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. most days.

Salzburg Chamber Soloists

We love this photo of the Salzburg Chamber Soloists, who perform Saturday, April 4, in the Wentz Concert Hall. We think the picture captures the passion and spirit of the incredibly talented performers.

The picture is from Crain’s Chicago Business, which for the second consecutive week has included a North Central College performance among its 10 Things To Do This Weekend. Last week Crain’s recommended Ben Vereen’s performance in Pfeiffer Hall.
