D-Term is the three-week period between Thanksgiving and Christmas when students can engage in a variety of activities, including academic research, independent study, international travel and study, service at home and abroad, coursework, work at a campus or off-campus job, and rehearsals for theatre productions. Some opportunities involve faculty and staff too.

• Haiti, Nov. 27-Dec. 7: Seven students and one faculty member, Jamie Walden-Mather, lecturer of human thought and behavior, return to Haiti to work with Mission of Hope, tackling work projects and reaching out to children in the organization’s orphanage, school and church.

The men’s cross country team looks to win its 13th national title on Saturday, Nov. 21, at Highland Hills Golf Course in Cleveland, Ohio. The
North Central welcomes its fifth Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence, Radha Rajagopalan from Toronto, Canada. Her strong interest in global climate change and water conservation complements the College’s 2009-2010 international and cultural focus on global environmental change.
