HI Megan,

Thanks for a great posting. I understand how coming to grips with the size of modern slavery can leave people feeling overwhelmed. But there's an interesting paradox about the 27 million slaves in the world - yes, it is a huge number, the largest ever in human history, but it is also the smallest fraction of the human population to ever be in slavery. Likewise, the amount of money slaves pump into the world economy is big, around $50 billion a year, but it is also the smallest fraction of the global economy to ever be represented by slave labor.

The truth is that slavery has been pushed to the edge of its own extinction and working together we can tip it over the brink. I hope you'll visit and share our website - www.freetheslaves.net, and maybe look at my book on how we can bring slavery to an end in 25 years, it is called: Ending Slavery: How We Free Today's Slaves.

All best wishes,
Kevin Bales

It would be wonderful if you shared some of the journey you were led through this summer. The stories of your path through Uganda. The joys and hardship of Kenya, and the inner strength these trips build encouraging students to study through NCC and parents to trust the once small child can grow and have strength beyond imagination....NCC is the right choice. After all....those wonderful life time friends that traveled to see you, and why that trip was so important to them,.........are NCC students. You can not get better...

A Wish For Every Entering NCC Freshman Parent

That you find joy and pride in the experiences that NCC will offer your student. That you will be amazed at the energy, dedication and determination of your student as you watch them move through the year conquering unforeseen difficulties, joyous occasions and everyday life. Knowing that you will miss them with a heavy heart my wish is that you see their excitement and unbridled passion for life blossom.

Know in your heart you and your student made the right choice. Now the rest is up to them!

I am so happy for you Meg. You have been handed a remarkable year. Travel safely and follow your heart. We love you.

the makers of Prince Caspian kept to the original story in some ways and strayed in others... i heard they were going to make it into a silly pure-action flick, but thankfully this was not the case

Well Lizzie, Week 7 is the ultimate of crunch times! Often it's filled with last minute papers and quizzes on top of studying for finals! But it's really not all that bad, just slightly stressful at the time!
