Senior Art Show

Graduating Art majors will exhibit selected pieces of their collective works in the Gallery at the Oesterle Library. Visitors can view sculptures, drawings, ceramics, paintings, two- and three-dimensional works. The opening reception will be held Sunday, May 16th from 1-3 p.m.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. The Gallery is open during normal Library hours.

Toes at the Oesterle Library Gallery

The latest exhibit at the Oesterle Library Gallery features photographs by North Central College student Timothy Whitney. Whitney’s solo exhibit titled “Toes”  showcases a series of digital photographs exploring the insecurities and peculiarities of peoples’ toes.

The exhibit opens on Monday, April 5th and will be on display through May 6th. Whitney will be available to meet with visitors during a reception at the Gallery on Wednesday, April 7 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular Library hours.

Art Exhibit features Mixed Media

The “Natural Order” exhibit by artist Cheryl Holz is scheduled to open on Sunday, Feb. 21st in the Oesterle Library Gallery. The artwork is inspired by a fascination with nature and is influenced by the connection between nature’s patterns and those patterns found in our daily lives.

The exhibit is free and open to the public and will be on display from February 21st through April 1st. The opening reception will take place on Thursday, Feb. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. During the reception the artist will be available to meet with the public to discuss her work.

Photography Exhibit coming to Gallery of Oesterle Library

The upcoming art exhibit at the Gallery of Oesterle Library will feature the photography of  Shane Prine. The exhibit, “The Presence of Absence” uses photographic images to chronicle the slow decay of a farmhouse that has been in the artist’s family for generations.

The free exhibit will be on display from Nov. 15 through Dec. 17. The artist will be available to discuss his work and to meet with the public during an opening reception on Monday, Nov. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Gallery is open during normal Library hours.

Native American Art Exhibit

The upcoming Art Exhibit at the Oesterle Library Gallery will feature a career retrospective of the works of Native American artist Ramson Lomatewama. Lomatewama is a Hopi elder with a deep knowledge of Hopi and Native American culture.

The artist has won praise and fellowships for his art. He has taught and lectured at many schools and is currently teaching courses at North Central College as an adjunct professor of humanities.

The public is welcome to attend a reception on Tuesday, October 13th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gallery located in the upper level of the library.  The artist will be available to discuss his art which includes the use of carving, stained glass, painting and glass blowing, and jewelry making.

Lomatewama’s art will be on display from October 11th through November 12th.  The Gallery is open during normal library hours.

Tango Art Exhibit

The new exhibit at the Oesterle Library Gallery will be Tango.  Tango highlights the work of photographer and Buenos Aries native Paulo R. De Andrea and features photographs of professional Argentine tango dancers.

The exhibit, which runs through September 3rd, will open with a reception on July 25th from 1-3 pm and is free and open to the public during regular library hours.

Senior Art Show 2009

Ten graduating seniors will showcase their artwork in the Senior Art Show.  The free exhibit features a diverse range of artwork and will be held in the Oesterle Gallery beginning Sunday, May 10th. An opening reception will be held on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Gallery.

The exhibit includes: paintings, drawings, digital photography, sculpture and more.  Seniors Megan Simmons, Lindsey Ponzi, Ryan Foster, Tim O’Connell, Laura Krezel-Mitchell, Samantha Grimson, Karen Liang, Kate McLlvain, Tess Riley and Ashley Dee will have works on display.

The exhibit runs through June 12th and is open during normal library hours. The Senior Art Show will also be held in the Schoenherr Art Gallery.

Art Exhibit features Oil Paintings

The new exhibit at the Gallery of Oesterle Library will feature the oil paintings of artist Eva Hoffmann. The exhibit titled “Collected Works” will begin with an opening reception on Sunday, April 5th, from 1 to 3 p.m. The artist’s interpretations of landscapes are described as simple and uncluttered in their architectural form. The paintings will be on display until May 7. The exhibit is free and open during regular library hours

Modern Painting Exhibit at Oesterle Library Gallery

Visit the Oesterle Library Gallery to view the paintings of Jack Siegel, a Chicago artist. The artist is a modernist painter, influenced by the 19th and early 20th century impressionist and expressionist painters.  The oil and watercolor paintings feature Chicago landmarks, street scenes and waterways.  The exhibit begins with a reception on Sunday, Feb. 22nd from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. The public is welcome to come meet the artist and view the paintings. The paintings will be on display until April 3rd. The exhibit is free and is open during regular library hours.

New artwork on display at Oesterle Library

The Gallery at Oesterle Library currently features works by Jing Zhou, a Chinese artist and member of the art and design faculty at Monmouth University.   The exhibit titled “Ch’an Mind, Zen Mind” includes computer-generated artworks that incorporate traditional art forms such as photography, painting, printmaking and drawing.   The artist’s works will be on display until February 20th.  The exhibit is free and is open during regular library hours.
