End of Term Reminder

Monday, June 4th, 2018

Congratulations on making it through another exciting year, Cardinals!

This is a friendly reminder that all materials you have checked out from Oesterle, IShare, or InterLibrary Loan are due back by Wednesday, June 6th by 4:00pm. Remember to bring everything back before you move out for the summer!

Who is always there for you? I-Share is.

Tuesday, February 19th, 2013

The collections of seventy-nine academic libraries are at your disposal. Search the I-Share catalog and discover materials that are available for you to borrow from I-Share libraries throughout the state. Create an account and make a request in the I-Share catalog; the materials will be delivered to Oesterle Library for you to pick up at the Information Services Desk. As our term winds down, now is the time make any last requests, as several days are required for processing and transport. Also know that you can go into any of the I-Share libraries and use your North Central ID to check out materials.

CardinalCat Downtime and Holiday Closings

Friday, May 25th, 2012

Oesterle Library will be closed Monday, May 28th in honor of Memorial Day. We will be open regular hours Saturday, May 26th and Sunday, May 27th.

Due to system maintenance, CardinalCat and the I-Share catalog will be unavailable from approximately 10 pm on Friday, May 25th to 5 pm on Sunday, May 27th. During this time you will not be able to search for books in CardinalCat or the I-Share catalog, order books from I-Share, login to your account to renew items, or renew items from Oesterle Library over the phone. In addition, the library is not able to check out items ordered through I-Share that have arrived during this downtime. As this maintenance was not scheduled by the library itself, we cannot guarantee that all systems will be up and running properly at exactly 5 pm on Sunday, May 27th.  Please feel free to contact the library if you have any questions about this downtime or the effected services. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Welcome back!

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

Welcome to all new and returning students, faculty and staff! One of the biggest changes to the library that returning students, faculty and staff will notice is the new CardinalCat interface. This change was implemented over the summer in response to change implemented last spring in the I-Share catalog.  In order to request books through I-Share interlibrary loan, check the status of requests and renew books online, you will now need to create an account associated with the 14-digit barcode number on the back of your NCC ID card that was previously used to request books and renew items.  You can watch a video on how to create an account here.

You’ll also find a difference in our loaning policies for books. Earlier in the summer I-Share implemented a policy to help standardize loan periods for the items you order from other I-Share libraries.  As a result, Oesterle Library adjusted its policies as well.  Any book checked out from Oesterle Library or ordered through I-Share interlibrary loan will now have a 4 week loan period with a maximum of three renewals.

Please contact the library with any questions you have about any of these changes.

New I-Share Interlibrary Loan Policies

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

The I-Share interlibrary loan service will be instituting new policies regarding interlibrary loan.  The new policies, to go in effect August 4, 2010, apply to all students, faculty and staff.  The biggest changes effecting students, faculty and staff who wish to borrow items through the I-Share interlibrary loan service are related to loan periods.

I-Share has instituted a 28 day loan period for all I-Share interlibrary loan items for all students faculty and staff.  Interlibrary loan items can be renewed for an additional 28 days from the current due date a maximum of 3 times.  There are other changes being made to the I-Share interlibrary loan policies that will not effect most users.  If you have any questions regarding the new policies or the I-Share interlibrary loan service please contact the library at (630) 637-5708 or through the chat, text, or email form located on the library homepage.
