Recently, Oesterle Library had several items from the Tholin Chicagoana Collection digitized by the Internet Archive.
The Tholin Chicagoana Collection, consists of 2,500 rare books on Chicago and its history, donated in 2006 by alumni Rev. Dr. Richard Tholin. These books are located in the Haven Hubbard Room on the library’s main level, and are in-library use only. The digitization of some of these materials will allow for easier access, and the quality is quite excellent.
The Internet Archive is a non-profit organization, created with the purpose of building an Internet library. The archive offers “permanent access for researchers, historians, scholars, people with disabilities, and the general public to historical collections that exist in digital format.”
Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity, and check out the items that have been digitized from the Tholin Chicagoana Collection at the Internet Archive website: http://www.archive.org/details/northcentralcollege.
