Hello World
Hi, and welcome to my first post!
I’m Kelsey Wiseheart. I’m currently a junior at North Central College, where my major is Computer Science with minors in English Writing and History of Ideas. Aside from classes, I am the vice president of Cardinals on Wheels (commonly referred to as COW), which is a club that focuses on trying to get commuter students involved by sponsoring fun events for the whole campus. I’m also a member of Students for Organ Donation and participate in the annual Games for Girls competition. I also have an internship in the IT department of International Truck and Engine Corporation.
I do have hobbies, though the activities I just mentioned take up most of my time. When I’m not busy with class work, I spend a lot of time with friends in the Cardinal Lounge, which is sort of a home-away-from-home for commuter students (and a few residents). I also like to read when I have a chance. I’m a sci-fi and fantasy fan, though I’ve been known to pick up books on everything from philosophy to theoretical physics. Beyond that, I do a lot of what I call “geeking,” which is basically working on anything that has to do with technology. Video games are a large part of it, but I also tweak my computer, fix problems with my home network, read articles about new trends, and that sort of thing.
Speaking of technology, when I was looking for photos of myself to post here, I realized that a lot of the more recent ones include me using some kind of computer. To be true to form, I decided to post this one from the end of last year. (I’m the one in the green polo. And if you’re wondering, we’re playing Mario Party 8.)

So that’s that. Hopefully I’ll be able to give insight on what it’s like to be a computer science student (especially a female one!), a commuter, and generally a student at North Central College. Thanks for visiting!
