Does She Love Me?

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

This weekend was packed with fun activities. First I had to go home on Friday to retake my physical for student teaching in the winter. (I’m so excited) Then I sat down to dinner with my family and had some delicious pot roast and noodles. Pot roast is one of my favorite dishes. I came back to campus hoping to have a baseball recruit, but unfortunately he had broken his meniscus and couldn’t come out. I was introduced to some other baseball recruits and told them about my experiences here at North Central. They were an interesting bunch of guys, but they said they enjoyed their visit. Saturday was the football game against Augustana. I had to work stadium security for the baseball team. It was freezing, cold hard winds in your face about 40 degrees out. But it was all worth it. North Central defeated Augustana 48-21 titling us to our first Conference Championship in 40 years. It was an awesome experience to be apart of.

That night I went to the annual fall musical of “She Loves Me.” I thought the cast and crew did a superb job and I loved the comedy intertwined with the singing. A show I would highly recommend to see.

As for an update on classes and finals, it’s all coming to an end. I have one final left with a project due on the 24th. So lets pump it out and get going onto to December Term (Interim)

Halloween and U of I

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

Halloween is a holiday in which people dress up as goblins, ghosts, professions they strive for, light clothed females, and random characters. I am not a huge Halloween guy; I was much more motivated in the past with trick or treating and candy. But it was an awesome night, not only because this is the first time in years that it has been held on a weekend, but also it was awesome seeing a lot of my friend’s creative ideas for costumes.

After Halloween ended my mom picked up me and my friends and we headed down to the University of Illinois to see the football game vs. Iowa. It was my first Division 1 football game and it was a blast. We sat in the student section and we were about 20 rows up from the field. After the game we went to my favorite restaurant Za’s and then back to my friend’s house. It was an awesome Saturday down there and I came back Sunday afternoon.

This weekend I’ll be working the football game vs. Augustana. Hopefully it will be a nice day out and we win once again. If you did not know this we are ranked 2nd nationally through the NCAA Division III. Also I will be going to the musical here at North Central called “She Loves Me” this Saturday.

Some of us let these great dreams die, but others nourish and protect them; nurse them through the bad days till they bring them to the sunshine and light which comes always to those who sincerely hope that their dreams will come true.” — Woodrow Wilson
